Women Who Shattered Ceilings Share Lessons They’ve Learned

Amanda Nguyen, a fearless advocate for human rights and a pioneer in the field of social justice, was recently honored at the TIME Women of the Year Leadership Forum in Los Angeles. She was joined on stage by two remarkable women, Nazanin Boniadi and Carin Giuliante, who also share a passion for making a positive impact in the world.

The theme of this year’s forum was “Leading with Purpose”, and there could not have been a more fitting trio to represent this message. Amanda, Nazanin, and Carin have each demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in their respective fields, and their presence on stage was an inspiring sight for all in attendance.

Amanda, a survivor of sexual assault, has relentlessly fought for the rights of other survivors through her organization, Rise. Her unwavering determination to change the laws and policies surrounding sexual assault has resulted in the passing of the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Rights Act, also known as the “Amanda Nguyen Act”. This groundbreaking legislation guarantees basic rights to all survivors of sexual violence, regardless of their location or immigration status. Amanda’s advocacy has not only given a voice to survivors, but it has also paved the way for future change and progress.

Joining Amanda on stage was Nazanin Boniadi, a renowned actress and human rights activist. She is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has been actively involved in various humanitarian causes, including the protection of women’s and children’s rights. Nazanin has used her platform as a successful actress to bring attention to issues such as child marriage, human trafficking, and gender inequality. She is a true example of using one’s influence for the greater good.

Carin Giuliante, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, completed the trio of powerful women at the forum. She is the founder of the Giuliante Group, a real estate development firm, and has been a pioneer in green building and sustainable design. Carin’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility has earned her numerous accolades, including being named one of the “Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Real Estate” by Commercial Observer. Her dedication to making a positive impact in the world through her work is truly commendable.

During their panel discussion, the three women shared their personal stories and experiences, highlighting the importance of using one’s voice and platform to bring about change. They also discussed the challenges they have faced as women in male-dominated industries and the importance of lifting each other up and supporting one another.

Their powerful words and inspiring stories left a lasting impact on the audience, who were motivated to take action and make a difference in their own communities. The trio’s presence on stage was a testament to the fact that women are a force to be reckoned with and when united, can achieve incredible things.

The TIME Women of the Year Leadership Forum was not only a celebration of the achievements of these three remarkable women, but it also served as a reminder that there is still much work to be done in terms of gender equality and social justice. But with strong and determined leaders like Amanda, Nazanin, and Carin, the future is definitely bright.

In the words of TIME’s Editor-in-Chief, Edward Felsenthal, “Women like Amanda, Nazanin, and Carin represent the best of humanity – fearless, compassionate, and determined to create a better world for all.” Their presence at the forum was truly an honor and a source of inspiration for all those who attended.

As we continue to push for a more equal and just society, let us remember the powerful message conveyed by these three incredible women – that leadership is not about titles or positions, but about making a positive impact in the world and leading with purpose.
