Oscars 2025: This Is How To Watch This Year’s Academy Awards Live In The UK

After an action-packed awards season that had us on the edge of our seats with dramatic red carpet moments, powerful speeches, and long-awaited wins, it’s finally time for the biggest event of them all – the Oscars.

Unlike other major US awards shows, the Academy Awards are actually broadcasted live in the UK, which means us British movie fans can watch along and experience the magic in real-time. Whether you choose to stay up until the early hours of the morning or catch up the next day, the Oscars never fail to disappoint.

So, for those of you who are eagerly anticipating the Oscars, here’s a handy guide on how you can watch it live in the UK.

How can I watch the Oscars red carpet live in the UK?

Every great awards show starts with a star-studded red carpet, and this year’s Oscars are no exception. Unfortunately, with the absence of E! in the UK (RIP!), you’ll need to find alternative ways to catch up with your favorite celebrities as they make their way into the ceremony.

But don’t worry, there are still ways to watch the red carpet live. The official Oscars YouTube channel will be streaming live interviews with stars on the red carpet, hosted by the popular Chicken Shop Date host, Amelia Dimoldenberg. And of course, don’t forget to keep an eye on HuffPost UK, where we’ll be bringing you all the red carpet highlights of the night.

What about the main Oscars ceremony? Is it available to watch in the UK?

Yes, it is! And the best part – it’s free. The ceremony will be broadcasted live on ITV1, with the iconic Jonathan Ross hosting a special broadcast from 10:30 pm onwards on Sunday, March 2nd. He will be joined by a panel of experts, including The White Lotus’ Jason Isaacs, who will be sharing their thoughts on this year’s nominees and providing commentary on the night’s events.

If staying up all night isn’t your thing, don’t worry. ITV1 will also be airing a selection of highlights from the Oscars at 10:45 pm on Monday, March 3rd.

For those living in other territories, you can visit the official Oscars website for more information on how to watch live.

And as always, make sure to follow HuffPost UK for live coverage and updates throughout the night.

What about after the ceremony? Will there be any live-streamed after-parties?

If the Oscars still haven’t quenched your thirst for all things glitz and glamour, there’s always the Vanity Fair after-party. This star-studded event will be live-streamed on Vanity Fair’s website and YouTube channel, hosted by the fabulous Tan France from Queer Eye and social media personality, Francesca Scorsese. Joining them will be the hosts of the popular podcast, Giggly Squad, Paige DeSorbo, and Hannah Berner.

One last question – who should we look out for at this year’s Oscars?

Well, that’s a tough one. Emilia Pérez has received the most nominations this year, but the film has been surrounded by controversy due to its leading lady, Karla Sofía Gascón. As a result, it hasn’t had much luck during awards season.

However, one thing’s for sure – Zoe Saldaña is most likely to take home the Best Supporting Actress award, following her successful wins at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Critics’ Choice Awards, and SAG Awards. She will be going head-to-head with Ariana Grande for her impressive performance in Wicked, but Zoe has consistently come out on top throughout awards season.

Another safe bet is Kieran Culkin, who has swept the awards for his role in A Real Pain. He is favored to win the Best Supporting Actor award on Sunday.

But after that, it’s anyone’s guess. Best Actor is a close race between Timothée Chalamet for A Complete Unknown and Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, while Best Actress could go to Demi Moore, Mikey Madison, or Fernanda Torres.

And let’s not forget the coveted Best Picture award, which is anyone’s game. Anora, Conclave, and The Brutalist are among the top contenders, but never underestimate the underdogs – A Complete Unknown, Wicked, or even Emilia Pérez could take home the trophy.
