I Tried the Viral One-Leg Jeans, and I Got Plenty of Stares

If you’re a fashion enthusiast and a frequent TikTok user, chances are you’ve stumbled upon the viral and somewhat controversial Coperni one-leg jeans. People who have managed to get their hands on them are turning to their followers for style advice and even questioning whether they should keep them. Meanwhile, those still on the waitlist or simply curious about the trend are taking matters into their own hands by DIY-ing the jeans and cutting one leg off an old pair. But for those looking for an alternative take on this unique silhouette, I dared to try out the Romeo Hunte Black One Leg Pant ($232, originally $725) – and let me tell you, it’s even more eye-catching (which, how is that even possible?).

These jeans have undoubtedly been one of the most polarizing pieces I’ve ever worn. And trust me, I’ve tried some pretty divisive clothing, from Skims’ butt-enhancing shapewear to their famous push-up nipple bra, and even many sheer naked dresses. After wearing the Romeo Hunte one-leg jeans around town to run errands and obviously attracting some attention (stares, double-takes, and the like), I’ve put together a detailed review of these jeans that have been causing quite a stir on the internet.

About the Romeo Hunte Denim Raw Edge One Leg Jeans

The Romeo Hunte one-leg jeans are available in sizes XS-XXL and have a 28.5-inch inseam, 12-inch rise, 18-inch knee opening, and 12-inch leg opening. They are made in Portugal from 100 percent cotton and feature a zip-fly, two front pockets, and one back pocket. These jeans weigh just over 25.5 ounces when rolled and are recommended for mild dry cleaning only. For those looking to make a statement, they can be paired with the matching Romeo Hunte Sports Bra ($68, originally $295) for a full co-ord set. And for those who can’t wait to get their hands on them, they can be purchased on sale at Revolve or financed on Romeo Hunte’s website with four separate payments.

What I Like About the Romeo Hunte One Leg Jeans

As someone who loves experimenting with bold looks, I was excited to try out these avant-garde jeans. I love that they are the focal point of any outfit, making styling simple and effortless – a white tee, heels, and sunglasses are all you need to complete the look. I also appreciate the straight fit of these jeans. A flare or super slim/skinny-cut leg would have made it difficult to walk in, but these jeans zip up smoothly and don’t feel restrictive at all. And even though the denim isn’t stretchy, it is soft and comfortable against the skin, which is a must when trying out such a daring trend.

What to Consider Before Buying the Romeo Hunte One Leg Jeans

It’s safe to say that these jeans are not for the faint of heart and will definitely attract attention. If you’re not someone who enjoys trying out new trends, I would suggest DIY-ing a pair first to see if it’s something you’d like. Also, keep in mind that these jeans are on the heavier side due to the patchwork design and extra shredding, which adds volume and texture. With one leg completely free, the other will naturally feel weighed down in comparison when wearing them. For reference, the rolled-up jeans weigh just over 25.5 ounces, while my standard Levi’s weigh 20 ounces – and they have a whole extra leg of material!

It’s also worth noting that the cutoff on the right side of the pants is quite short. So, from certain angles, they do reveal a hint of my right butt cheek. And they are a bit roomy in the waist area, so I wouldn’t say it’s a sizing issue. I ordered a small, which according to Romeo Hunte’s size chart, is the right size for my measurements. However, the jeans were a bit loose in the waist. But if I had sized down, the single pant leg would have been too snug to pull up properly. As someone with athletic thighs, I often face this issue with jeans.

Who Are the Romeo Hunte One Leg Jeans Best For?
