The excitement is building as the nominees for next year’s Golden Globes have been announced! It’s hard to believe that we are already looking towards 2026, but with the list of incredible films and TV shows in contention, it’s clear that the future of entertainment is in good hands.
Leading the pack with nine nominations is One Battle After Another, a gripping war drama that has captured the hearts of audiences and critics alike. Close behind are Sentimental Value with eight nominations and Sinners with seven. These films have all made a huge impact this year and it’s no surprise to see them recognized by the Golden Globes.
In the television categories, The White Lotus has received the most nominations with six, closely followed by Adolescence with five. Both shows have been praised for their compelling storytelling and talented casts, making them worthy contenders for the Golden Globes.
But as with any awards season, there are always a few surprises and snubs. Let’s take a closer look at some of the stand-out moments from this year’s Golden Globe nominations.
SURPRISE: Amy Madigan for Weapons
One of the most exciting surprises on the list is the nomination for Amy Madigan for her role in Weapons. This horror film has been making waves since its release and Madigan’s performance as Aunt Gladys was a standout. Her portrayal was so powerful and transformative that she was kept out of the film’s promotional materials to avoid spoilers. But now, with her Golden Globe nomination, it’s clear that horror films deserve recognition alongside mainstream films. We can’t wait to see what Madigan will bring to the red carpet!
SNUB: Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo for Sinners
While Sinners has received widespread acclaim and box office success, it’s disappointing to see that the supporting cast has been overlooked by the Golden Globes. Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo both gave standout performances in the film, but unfortunately, they did not receive nominations. We hope that future awards shows will give them the recognition they deserve.
SNUB: Gwyneth Paltrow for Marty Supreme
Gwyneth Paltrow’s return to the big screen after six years has been highly anticipated, and her performance in Marty Supreme has already received rave reviews. While she did not receive a nomination for the Golden Globes, we shouldn’t count her out just yet. With such a strong comeback, Paltrow could still receive recognition from other awards shows later in the season.
SNUB: Josh Safdie for Marty Supreme
Another snub from Marty Supreme is director Josh Safdie, who many fans believed should have been nominated for Best Director. The film has received three nominations in total, including one for lead actor Timothée Chalamet, but it’s a shame that Safdie was not recognized for his work behind the camera.
SURPRISE: Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for Sentimental Value
With all the buzz surrounding Elle Fanning in Sentimental Value, it was a pleasant surprise to see Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas receive a nomination for her supporting role in the film. Her performance as Agnes added depth and emotion to the film, and it’s great to see her recognized alongside Fanning.
SNUB: Wake Up Dead Man for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy)
While the first two films in the series received much love during awards season, it’s surprising to see Wake Up Dead Man not nominated for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy). However, the film did receive nominations for Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, so it’s not all bad news for the sequel.
SNUB: Regina Hall for One Battle After Another
One Battle After Another is a clear favorite at this year’s Golden Globes, with nine nominations in total. However, many fans were disappointed to see Regina Hall not among the nominees for her performance as Deandra. Her work in the film has received plenty of awards buzz, and we hope she receives recognition from other awards shows later in the season.
The 2026 Golden Globes ceremony will take place on January 11th, and we can’t wait to see who takes home the awards. It’s clear that the future of entertainment is in good hands with such talented and diverse nominees. Let’s celebrate the best of the best and look forward to another exciting year of film and television.
