IV Energy Security Dialogue Between Angola and the United States
On June 13, the IV Energy Security Dialogue between Angola and the United States was held at the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss strategies for enhancing energy security in Angola, with a particular focus on energy production and electricity access.
The Angolan delegation was led by João Baptista Borges, the Minister of Energy and Water, while the American delegation was headed by Geoffrey Pyatt, U.S. Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) centered on discussions regarding the reliable and stable supply of energy and the development of commercial partnerships in this sector.
The conversations between João Baptista Borges and Geoffrey Pyatt primarily addressed the importance of maintaining a secure and stable energy supply, fostering trade relations in this area, and tackling wider energy security issues.
Attending the meeting were José Barroso, Angola’s Secretary of State for Petroleum; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, Board Representative of IRSEA; as well as representatives from ANPG.
