Trump Revives Threat Against On Russia After Weeks Of Pressuring Ukraine

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin: A Promising New Chapter in US-Russia Relations

The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia has been a source of concern for the international community for years. However, there may be hope on the horizon as US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have recently made strides towards finding a peaceful resolution.

It all started when Trump revived his past threat of imposing sanctions on Russia until a ceasefire and final peace agreement on Ukraine is reached. This move has been seen as a bold and decisive step towards ending the war and promoting peace in the region.

The US president has been piling up the pressure on Kyiv to come to the negotiating table in recent weeks, even pausing military aid and the sharing of intelligence on Russia. This has put pressure on Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy to take action, and as a result, he has agreed to go to Saudi Arabia for talks with the US on ending the war.

However, Trump has still not announced when he will reinstate military aid, showing that he is not backing down from his stance on pressuring both Russia and Ukraine to come to a resolution.

In a recent post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated, “Based on the fact that Russia is absolutely “pounding” Ukraine on the battlefield right now, I am strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions, Sanctions, and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED. To Russia and Ukraine, get to the table right now, before it is too late. Thank you!!!”

These words showcase Trump’s determination to use all means necessary to bring an end to the conflict. He is not afraid to use sanctions and tariffs to push both sides to negotiate and reach a final settlement.

This is not the first time Trump has made such statements. In January, shortly after his second administration began, he threatened Putin by stating, “Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. If we don’t make a ‘deal’, and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries.”

He continued, “Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way – and the easy way is always better. It’s time to ‘MAKE A DEAL’.”

These words show that Trump has always been committed to finding a resolution to the conflict and is not afraid to use his authority to put pressure on both sides.

However, it has been six weeks since his second administration began, and some may argue that he has not taken any tangible steps towards putting pressure on the Kremlin. But it is important to note that approximately 70% of Russian bank assets are already frozen following Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Additionally, around £276bn of Russia’s foreign currency reserves have been frozen as well.

Moreover, the US and UK have banned Russian oil and natural gas, while the EU has stopped seaborne crude imports. The G7 nations have also put a £47 price cap on each barrel of Russian crude oil. These actions show that the international community is standing in solidarity against Russia’s aggression, and Trump’s words have put even more pressure on the Kremlin to come to the negotiating table.

It is clear that Trump’s stance on pressuring Russia is not just empty words, and he is willing to use economic measures to bring an end to the conflict. This sends a strong message to Putin that the US will not tolerate any further aggression and is actively working towards finding a peaceful resolution.

The US-Russia relationship has been a hot topic in recent years, with many speculating that it has reached an all-time low. However, with this new development, there is hope that the two countries can work towards a better relationship and find common ground on important issues.

In addition to his efforts towards ending the conflict in Ukraine, Trump has also made strides in improving US-Russia relations in other areas. For instance, he has worked towards establishing a good working relationship with Putin, and together they have tackled important issues such as nuclear disarmament and counterterrorism efforts.

It is worth noting that Trump’s approach towards Russia is different from that of previous US presidents
